Delete your data

Your coins and your key are always yours, and we never hold them. If you use recovery, we keep a few things so it works. You can delete all of it whenever you like.

In the app

Open Pearl Safe and go to Settings → Advanced → Delete wallet and recovery data. Type delete, hold the button, then confirm with Face ID and your passkey. If you set up recovery, you also sign in with Apple or Google once, so the recovery vault is deleted too.

Your phone and the recovery vault are cleared at once. What our servers hold is deleted 72 hours later, a safety window: if someone else ever asks to delete your data, say with your phone, you have three days to stop it.

What gets deleted

• On your phone: the wallet's keys, your payment notes, contacts and settings.
• On our servers: the encrypted part of your key, the email address we send recovery warnings to, your phones' notification tokens and any recovery requests.
• At our recovery provider, Turnkey: your recovery vault, the parts of your key sealed in it and the Apple or Google sign-in it is tied to.

We message your alert email and your phones as soon as you ask, again after one and two days, and a last time six hours before; each message has a link that stops the deletion. Recovering the wallet onto a new phone stops it too. When it runs, we send one final message, "Your Pearl Safe data was deleted", before your warning channels go.

If the vault cannot be deleted because the sign-in did not finish, we delete everything else after the 72 hours, and our server blocks the vault for good, so nothing can ever be released from it.

What stays

Your payment history lives on the public Pearl blockchain, which nobody can edit or erase. Your coins stay there too, and after deleting, your recovery phrase is the way back to them. Holding coins? Export your phrase first, from Settings → Advanced → Export recovery phrase.

No longer have the app?

Email hello@pearlsafe.xyz from the address you use for recovery warnings and ask us to delete your data. We may ask you to confirm from that address, then delete everything tied to it within 30 days and let you know when it is done.
